Campus-Wide Lecture Jinhan Kim

Start:  1/18/2011 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Location:  198 McAllister, Room D

Dear Hastings Community please join us for a Campus-Wide Lecture by Jinhan Kim, Research Judge regarding Constitutional Court of Korea and its Role in Korea's Transition

Mr. Jinhan Kim, Research Judge at the Constitutional Court of Korea, will give us an insider's view of the development of one of East Asia's most active constitutional courts. The current Constitutional Court of Korea was established in 1988 following mass protests against Korea's authoritarian leaders and a constitutional compromise that liberalized the country's political system. Since 1988, the Court has played a critical role in consolidating Korea's democratic transition, striking down many laws and regulations that served as pillars of authoritarian  governance.
