A Public Nuisance: Tort Law's Response to Global Warming
On February 28th, 2011, please join the West-Northwest Journal of Environmental Law & Policy for an important discussion of the recent trend of private and public nuisance cases against large-scale greenhouse gas emitters, focusing on their merits and potential role in curbing greenhouse gasses. While a variety of plaintiffs have surfaced, the claim remains consistent: That defendants have contributed to Global Warming, and are thus responsible for plaintiffs' climate change related injuries.
Panel 1 will run from 1:30-3:00 p.m., and Panel 2 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Those in attendance can earn up to 3 MCLE units from the Calbar. Following the symposium, refreshments will be provided by La Mediterranee.
