Forum on US-China Cross Border Investment in the Energy Sector

Start:  11/15/2011 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Location:  200 McAllister, Rusty Dobbs Seminar Room

UC Hastings is pleased to welcome Jeff Layman '97 for a brown bag lunch forum on US-China Cross Border Investment in the Energy Sector. Mr. Layman will also discuss strategies for building a legal career in China. The forum will be held in the Rusty Dobbs Seminar Room (Room 640 on the 6th Floor of the UC Hastings Library).

Mr. Layman is a partner in the Beijing office of Baker Botts, LLP, where his practice focuses on China-related infrastructure projects. His experience includes representing sponsors and lenders in the development, construction and financing of infrastructure projects including thermal power, waste to energy, coal gasification, wind energy, desalination and waste water treatment facilities. He has extensive experience advising on transactions involving multilateral and export credit agencies. Chambers Asia includes Mr. Layman as one of Asia's leading business lawyers and describes him as "a conclusive choice for deals involving Chinese counterparties."

The forum presents a unique opportunity to visit with a UC Hastings Alumni Mentor and a leading business lawyer in Asia. We hope you will join us!
