Ann Veneman '76, executive director of UNICEF and former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, visits Hastings February 17-18 as a Schlesinger Fellow.
During her visit, Veneman will meet with students and faculty interested in public international law and human rights. On February 17, she will hold a conversation on the protection of children and the world food crisis at noon.
On February 18, Veneman will sit on a panel discussion on gender violence in the Democrat Republic of Congo. It also features Eve Ensler, the author of "The Vagina Monologues," and Dr. Denis Mukwege, a physician who has cared for female rape victims in the Congo.
The events are free and open to the public. No reservations are required.
