The Center for Genetics and Society Publishes Playing the Gene Card? by Prof. Obasogie

Playing the Gene Card? by Professor Osagie Obasogie studies the increasing number of DNA-based products that are being promoted and sold today, some of which some may be setting back our efforts toward racial justice.

The report focuses on three biotech products that may have particular risks for African American and other minority communities, such as race-specific drugs, genetic ancestry tests and DNA forensics and DNA databases.

Some of the topics analyzed in Playing the Gene Card? will be discussed in the Nagin Lecture Series on Human Reproductive and Genetic Technologies. Visit the events page to view upcoming lectures.
