Hastings Moot Court Team Prizes at Stetson
The Hastings team of Manisha Daryani (2L) and Petros Michael (3L) took Second Place in the world at the Stetson International Environment Moot Court Competition International Finals at the Stetson University College of Law in Florida, March 25-28, 2009. Their brief won third place and Manisha received the award for 5th best oral advocate in the world. The team’s well-rounded accomplishments are a record for Hastings at this prestigious international competition.
Last January at the Stetson Pacific Regional round, the Hastings team came in first place and won the Best Memorial (Brief), winning them a spot in the International Finals to compete against moot court teams from around the world.
Congratulations to the team for representing U.C. Hastings so well in such a prominent global competition. The Moot Court Department thanks alumni coach Sara Aminzadeh and student coach Leah Sikes for their encouragement and assistance. The Department also extends special thanks to Petros Michael, the team’s student coach for the regional rounds, who stepped up as a competitor for the International Finals. Great work!
