Prof. Jo Carrillo’s Harvard Latino Law Review Article Helped to Enact AB 1160

Professor Jo Carrillo’s article in the Spring 2008 issue of the Harvard Latino Law Review helped to enact AB 1160, which now requires mortgage documents to be translated into the language of the verbal negotiations for the most commonly spoken languages in California: Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Chinese, and Korean.
The legislation was sponsored by Paul Fong (D-Cupertino) and has been signed by the Governor.
