Prof. David Levine Comments on $1.3 Billion Oracle-SAP Verdict

The San Francisco Chronicle interviewed Professor David Levine about the $1.3 billion verdict awarded to Oracle Corp. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, in its copyright infringement suit against SAP AG. Levine said that it is unclear whether SAP will pay the $1.3 billion because the judge could adjust the jury award and an SAP appeal could take years. He added that despite the size of the award, he believes the verdict is unlikely to have wider ramifications for copyright law.
