Sterling Johnson '12 Wins Public Service Scholarship

Rising 3L Sterling Johnson has been selected by Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (BALIF) and the Barrister's Club Diversity Committee as the 2011 inaugural winner of the Diverse Voices Fellowship. Johnson was selected for his demonstrated commitment to public service, and will receive his award at the Barrister's Club Diversity Reception on Thursday, July 21, 2011.
“We join BALIF and the Barrister's Club in celebrating Sterling Johnson's contributions,” said UC Hastings Chancellor and Dean Frank H. Wu. “His ongoing commitment to public service means a great deal to San Francisco and the legal community. This recognition reflects that value, and brings pride to UC Hastings College of the Law.”
The Diverse Voices Fellowship is sponsored by BALIF and the Barrister's Club Diversity Committee. BALIF is the nation’s oldest and largest bar association of LGBT legal professionals. The Barrister's Club was founded 1929 to promote fellowship among the new members of the legal profession and currently has more than 3,200 Bay Area members.
