Professor Donna Ryu - Commonwealth Club Panelist

Donna Ryu, Clinical Profesor of Law at Hastings, will be a panelist at the Commonwealth Club on September 2, 2008 at 6:00 pm.  The event, titled "Marriage Equality: What Does It Mean, How Did We Get It, and Will It Last?",  addresses the constitutional dimensions of the controversial Proposition 8, which will appear on California's November ballot, and seeks to eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry.  The other panelists include Therese Stewart, the SF Deputy City Attorney who argued The Marriage Cases before the California Supreme Court for the City and County of San Francisco, and Paul Thorndal, a family law specialist.  The moderator will be Jo Hoenninger.
