Allison Crapo ’07 Receives Abascal Fellowship
Allison Crapo ’07 Receives Abascal Fellowship
Allison Crapo ’07 receives the Ralph Santiago Abascal Fellowship for her project working with youths with mental health needs who are entangled in the juvenile justice system.
She will work with current juvenile mental health courts in the Santa Clara and Alameda counties to explore how civil advocacy can improve minors' ability to be safe at home, succeed in school and avoid future delinquency. Allison will provide both direct civil representation to youths in existing courts, recruit other civil advocates and lay the groundwork for creating new courts in other Bay Area jurisdictions in order to expand the population of youth served.
