Hastings Mourns Passing of Judge Melvin Brunetti

The Hastings community notes with great sadness the death of U.S Ninth Circuit Judge Melvin Brunetti, Hastings ’64, on Friday October 30 after a courageous battle with cancer.  The Ninth Circuit’s announcement is here:  http://www.ce9.uscourts.gov/cm/articlefiles/124-2009_Brunetti_Obit.pdf.  Judge Brunetti faithfully supported his law school by annually choosing Hastings students as his law clerks, creating a large group of admirers from dozens of Hastings’ graduation classes.  Services will be held at St. Thomas Aguinas Cathedral in Reno at 1 pm Saturday November 7, and we are considering how best to honor and continue Judge Brunetti’s legacy at Hastings.
