Shook Hardy & Bacon Foundation Establishes Diversity Scholarship at UC Hastings

UC Hastings received a $30,000 grant from the Shook Hardy & Bacon Foundation to establish a Diversity in Law Scholarship, to assist in enhancing diversity at the school.

SHOOK HARDY & BACON FOUNDATION ESTABLISHES DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP AT UC HASTINGS COLLEGE OF THE LAW

The Shook Hardy & Bacon Foundation recently awarded a $30,000 grant to establish the Shook Hardy & Bacon Diversity in Law Scholarship at the University of California Hastings College of the Law. The scholarship's purpose is to assist in enhancing diversity at the school.

"The mission of the SHB Foundation is to increase diversity in the legal workforce," said SHB Foundation President Jay Simpson.  "The goal of the Shook Hardy & Bacon Diversity in Law Scholarship is to provide students from varied backgrounds the opportunity to study and practice law."

In recent years, the SHB Foundation has committed more than $300,000 to fund diversity-related scholarships and grants to support students at the University of Kansas School of Law, University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, University of Florida Levin College of Law, University of Miami (Florida) School of Law, University of San Francisco School of Law, University of California Hastings College of the Law, and University of Iowa College of Law. The Foundation hopes to continue to expand the geographic scope of its scholarship and grant activities in the future.
