Feldman on Patent Law via a Variety of Media Outlets, Speaking Engagements, and Scholarship

Professor Robin Feldman's newest article, "The America Invents Act 500 Expanded: The Effects of Patent Monetization Entities," will be published by the UCLA Journal of Law & Technology. It is an empirical study of 13,000 patents lawsuits involving 30,000 patent assertions, which concludes that so-called patent trolls now file the majority of patent-based litigation. The article has generated considerable attention in the media. Feldman has given interviews about her findings to American Lawyer Media, Bloomberg News, ThomsonReuters, the Daily Journal, The Deal, mLex, and Law360, among other publications.

On March 19, Robin Feldman testified before the newly established California Assembly Select Committee on Privacy at a hearing intended to bring committee members up to speed on privacy law. Other standing Committees of the California Legislature were also involved in the hearing--Judiciary, Professions & Consumer Protection, Banking & Finance, and Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism & Internet Media. She was also invited to participate in an on-line symposium on Patent Assertion Entities (aka patent trolls) and Antitrust. Her comment, “Antitrust & Sham Litigation as a Response to Inappropriate Patent Monetization Behavior,” appeared on the Antitrust & Competition Policy Blog.

Finally, Feldman’s forthcoming article, "Intellectual Property Wrongs", is available on the DOJ website as a public comment.
