Applying Online

UC Hastings strongly recommends applying online through Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS). The General Application for admission, the Legal Education Opportunity Program Application (LEOP), and the Entering Student Financial Aid Supplement are available there. LL.M. applicants must follow the LL.M. procedure. Note: you must have a PC (not a Macintosh) to apply online.

• First-year JD applicants may apply online between October 1 and March 1.

• Early Commitment applicants must have their applications submitted by November 15 and completed by December 1.

• Transfers may apply online May 1 through July 1. Please update your letters of recommendation with LSDAS.

• Visiting students may apply online May 1 through July 1 for the fall semester, and October 1 through November 15 for the spring semester.

Applying by Mail

You may view and download the J.D. application, complete it, and send it in with your $75 application fee (make check payable to U.C. Hastings College of the Law). If you apply by mail or fax, you must still register with LSDAS. (See the application checklist.)  Please mail/fax completed applications to:
