How to Apply
General Application: Required of all First-Year Applicants
- Applications must be received in the Admissions Office by March 1.
- Be sure to include a current email address on page one of the application as the Admissions Office makes most of its communications via email.
- a question does not apply, please fill in N/A. Do not leave questions blank or your application will be considered incomplete.
- Please note that you can attach your personal statement, resume, and addenda electronically through LSDAS.

Option 1: Early Commitment Option
To be eligible for early commitment you must have taken the LSAT on or before the October test administration and have submitted your application with the early commitment option box checked by November 15 (your application must be complete by December 1). This is a binding admissions process. If you are accepted by December 15, you will have until January 15 to make your admission deposit; doing so requires you to withdraw applications from all other law schools. If you do not receive an early offer, your file will be considered with all other applications. No offers of admission through the Legal Education Opportunity Program will be made in the early commitment period.
Option 2: Legal Education Opportunity Program (LEOP)
Candidates who wish to be considered for the LEOP program at UC Hastings must follow the instructions on the LEOP Supplement to the general application. This supplemental application is solely for those who wish to be considered through the Legal Education Opportunity Program (LEOP). LEOP applicants must address all relevant questions LEOP application supplement and they may choose to include information about the adversity they faced and its impact on their academic preparation in their personal statement or provide a second essay for this purpose (preferred). In addition, to the extent that other information will help the evaluation of your claim about significant adversity, please provide it. (For instance, diagnostic reports concerning disabilities and accommodations should be submitted.)

Option 3: Apply for Financial Aid
To apply for financial aid, applicants should complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Hastings Financial Aid Supplement between January 1 and March 1.
