Law Journals
Everything you will do as a member or an editor of a journal — reading, writing, editing, researching, source-checking, and working in teams — you will do as a lawyer, no matter what area of law you eventually pursue. Not only do the journals offer an excellent opportunity for students to gain experience with legal scholarship, but the journals themselves represent an important part of the intellectual life of the College. Students at Hastings can join a law journal as staff members in the second year, and can become titled editors in their third year. Second-year members write Student Notes, under the tutelage of third-year editors and/or faculty mentors, which are considered for publication in the journals.
