The University of California Summer Legal Institute in San Francisco
General Description

The University of California Summer Legal Institute in San Francisco offers intensive law courses in a variety of subjects. All courses are taught at the University of California (UC) Hastings College of the Law, California's oldest and largest law school, located adjacent to federal, state, and county courthouses in the Civic Center area of the city.
Summer course offerings are divided into two general areas: credit-bearing courses and certificate programs. The credit-bearing courses are open to any JD student currently enrolled and in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school within the United States. There are two certificate programs: Envisioning, Designing, and Implementing Court ADR, open to non-U.S. judges, attorneys, and court administrators; and a 40-Hour Mediation Training, which both attorneys and non-attorneys can take. For further information and application information for the certificate programs, please visit the UC Hastings Center for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution's Summer Legal Institute webpage.
The University of California Summer Legal Institute offers a unique opportunity to experience U.S. legal education in one of the most beautiful and cosmopolitan cities in the United States. If you are a foreign attorney or law student considering the possibility of attending the UC Hastings LL.M. program, participating in the Summer Legal Institute will give you a preview of what you can expect and help to prepare you for your future.
