UC Law SF Prof. Rory Little Leads Supreme Court Panel at ABA Annual Meeting

This Friday, August 5, at 2 pm, UC Law SF Professor Rory Little will moderate his annual “Review of the Supreme Court’s Term, Criminal Cases” panel at the American Bar Association’s Annual Meeting in San Francisco. This will mark the 25th year Professor Little has run this Showcase Panel for the ABA.

Participating on the panel will be:

California Supreme Court Justice Leondra Kruger. Justice Kruger is the youngest member of that Court, and one of the youngest California Supreme Court Justices in history. She was appointed to the Court in January 2015 by Governor Jerry Brown, after a distinguished career in the United States Department of Justice, serving as Deputy Solicitor General among other positions. She is a graduate of Yale Law School, served as a law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, and has argued 12 cases in the United States Supreme Court.

The Honorable Brian Stretch, the United States Attorney for the Northern District of California. Mr. Stretch has been a career prosecutor for over twenty years, in both federal and state courts in California. He oversees the operations of one of the largest federal prosecution units in the country, supervising well over 100 federal attorneys and a staff of over 250, ranging from San Jose to the Oregon border and covering almost a quarter of California’s 38 million people.

Nationally recognized appellate advocate Dennis Riordan, whose lengthy career as an appellate specialist has included representation of, among many others, famed baseball star Barry Bonds; wrongfully accused young men known as the “West Memphis Three;” accused Black Panther Johnny Spain; former San Francisco Bar Association President E. Bob Wallach; and various publicized white collar and securities law defendants.
