Climate Change Lawyer Julia Olson '97 featured in The New York Times

The New York Times featured UC Law SF alumna Julia Olson ’97 on October 23rd, noting that: “If all goes as planned, Ms. Olson will deliver her opening argument on Monday in a landmark federal lawsuit against the Trump administration on behalf of 21 plaintiffs, ages 11 to 22, who are demanding that the government fight climate change. It is a case that could test whether the judicial branch has major role to play in dealing with global warming, and whether there is a constitutional right to a stable and safe climate.”

“Article of the Day”

The paper followed up on October 26th in their “Article of the Day,” inviting readers to respond: “This case could test whether the judicial branch has a major role to play in dealing with global warming and whether there is a constitutional right to a stable and safe climate. What do you think? Do these young people have strong arguments in their favor? Do you think they will ultimately be successful in court? Why or why not?”
