The Wireless Network extends to most student study areas. Any student with a notebook computer with 802.11b or 802.11g Wireless Networking (either through a plug-in card, or built-in) can connect to the Hastings network and get access to email and the Internet. 802.11N has been installed in all classrooms on campus.
The SecureHastings wireless network is the preferred campus wireless network connection. Instructions for setting up SecureHastings:
The HastingsGuest wireless network is provided for all visitors of the UC Hastings College of the Law campus for wireless Internet. Upon access to the HastingsGuest wireless network the client will have to accept the UC Hastings Acceptable Use Policy.
The hastingsplay wireless network is for personal wireless devices (Xbox360/XboxOne, PS4/PS3, Apple Tv, Roku, Smart TVs, WiiU, etc.) that cannot connect to the SecureHastings wireless network. If you have a chromecast you will need your chromecast and your controlling device to both be connected to hastingsplay to communicate together. If you have an apple TV and would like to use apple TV display mirroring that apple tv and the mirroring device will need to be on hastingsplay.
Only students, staff, faculty and tenants of UC Hastings College of the Law are granted access to HastingsPlay. To access and register for the Hastingsplay wireless network, log into KScope, click on "View Services" and then click on the link entitled "Wireless Devices Register" to attach an Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, Game Console or Smart TV to our Internet Connection.
