Chat is available during normal reference hours. This service is intended primarily for UC Law SF students, faculty, and staff. If the Chat dialogue box indicates that a librarian is available but you don’t receive an immediate response to your question, try again in a few minutes.

If you want to access Chat Reference directly through your Gmail account, add hastings.refdesk@gmail.com to your list of Gmail contacts. You will then be able to initiate a chat dialogue directly through Gmail. For Yahoo Messenger chat, add hastings.refdesk to your contact list.

Reference Question Form

The UC Law SF Library provides e-mail reference service for simple, straightforward questions. This service is for current UC Law SF faculty, students, and staff. If you are not affiliated with UC Law SF, a librarian can assist you at the Reference Desk, or by telephone (415-565-4751) during Reference Desk Hours. Questions submitted via email are reviewed and answered daily, Monday through Friday. In-depth research questions are best served in person at the Reference Desk or by making an individual appointment.
