Brianna is a local Bay Area resident, born and raised in San Mateo, CA. She attended Chapman University in Orange County and worked for a family law firm prior to starting her legal education at UC Hastings. She spent the summer after her 1L year working as a law clerk for the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Public Law Enforcement Integrity Unit. As a 2L, she plans to pursue a concentration in criminal law and one day work as a criminal prosecutor. She is a proud member of the UC Hastings Moot Court Team, Hastings Public Interest Law Foundation, and Hastings Prisoner Outreach Organization. In her free time, she enjoys exploring all that San Francisco has to offer and spending time with her fellow UCH Sharks.
Rachel is a 2L from Westlake Village, CA. Before law school, she graduated from UC Santa Barbara with degrees in Biological Sciences and Global Studies. Her original post-graduation plan was to spend a gap-year traveling, however, she only made it to Japan before COVID grounded that idea. Instead, she started a small website design company focused on updating small companies’ existing websites to handle online ordering. At UC Hastings, Rachel is considering the Health Law and Work Law concentrations. She is also involved with ASUCH (the student government) as a Parliamentarian and with the Hastings Business Law Journal. When she isn’t studying, she avails herself of every opportunity to explore the Bay Area. Highlights include going on day-trips to national parks, attending parades in Chinatown, and enjoying the views at some of San Francisco’s roof-top restaurants.
Sofia is a 2L from Stockton, California. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2020 with a degree in Political Science. During her summers in undergrad, Sofia interned at various District Attorneys and Public Defenders offices, inspiring her to apply to law school. Upon graduating, Sofia went straight through to UC Hastings. After her 1L summer internship at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, she now plans to pursue a career in criminal justice, particularly criminal defense. Sofia is currently the co-President of the Pilipinx American Law Society, co-Vice President of the Hastings Public Interest Law Foundation, and Financial Vice President of OUTlaw. This semester she is also a Teaching Assistant and a part of the Practicum at Legal Services for Children.
Raymund is a 2L from San Diego, California. He graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2019 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Before coming to law school, he interned at the International Rescue Committee in the immigration department and citizenship education program. He also worked at a plaintiff side personal injury firm. During his 1L summer, he worked for the Legal Aid Society of San Diego. He plans to pursue a career in criminal justice and immigration law, specifically, in “crimmigration”. Raymund is currently the secretary of the Pilipinx American Law Society, co-Vice President of the Hastings Public Interest Law Foundation, and is part of the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic.
*Sofia will not hold Office Hours on 10/15.
