If you are an attorney licensed outside of the U.S., or have completed a first degree in law outside of the U.S., the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco invites you to apply for a one-year LL.M. degree in U.S. Legal Studies.

Scholarships

UC Law SF offers a limited number of scholarships to LL.M. students based on both merit and need. If you wish to apply for a scholarship, you will need to answer the scholarship questions on your application.

LL.M. to J.D. Transfer

UC Law SF LL.M. students can apply to transfer to the J.D. program after two semesters of study. Successful LL.M. to J.D. transfer candidates can earn their J.D. after just two additional years of study.

Housing

UC Law SF is one of a limited number of law schools with housing devoted exclusively to its students. McAllister Tower, which is located one block away from the school’s academic and administrative buildings, is an iconic San Francisco building.

Moot Court
Bar Admission

LLM graduates who meet eligibility requirements, can choose to sit for a state Bar exam and can utilize UC Law SF Bar preparation services. It’s highly encouraged for students to check the Bar Admission Guidelines to ensure their eligibility for the exam.
