MSL Intellectual Property Specialization

Creations of the mind—from music to ideas, technology to science—are the dynamic realm of Intellectual Property (IP) Law. Copyright, patent, and trademark law are brought together to address the legal issues relating to inventions, designs, and artistic works. UC Law SF’s connections with Silicon Valley, California’s art and entertainment industries, and San Francisco’s vibrant intellectual property firms uniquely position it to offer a robust curriculum and alumni network. MSL students are offered courses taught by practitioners from boutique and multi-national firms and in-house counsel, in addition to full-time UC Law SF faculty. The IP specialization may be particularly useful for scientists, patent agents/analysts, tech innovators, and inventors.
