Access to our campus is restricted to protect our campus community and to stop the spread of COVID-19. On Monday, March 16, the College moved the administrative and academic operations of the campus to a substantially virtual environment. Additionally, on March 16, 2020, Mayor London Breed issued a Public Health Order that directs all San Francisco residents to remain home with the exception of “essential activities,” which order goes into effect at 12:01 a.m on Tuesday, March 17. Dean Faigman drafted a message to the community immediately following the Public Health Order providing direction to our community.
In line with that Public Health Order and campus virtualization, while essential College functions will continue and the Tower will remain open to student residents, we are curtailing operations at 200 McAllister, 198 McAllister, and 333 Golden Gate. Access to these buildings requires authorization of College administration and everyone entering campus buildings must have photo identification.
Entry into any campus building by faculty, staff, and visitors, irrespective of affiliation with the College, is only permitted if you meet all of the following criteria:
- You are not returning from any country in the last 14 days that has a travel alert as issued by the CDC
- You do not have any symptoms of illness
- You have not had any interactions with anyone that has, or is believed to have, COVID-19
If you are unsure about your answers to these questions, do not come to campus even if you are authorized to do so. Note that these criteria do not apply to student residents who self-quarantine in their residence. We ask that you contact Rhiannon Bailard, Executive Director of Operations at UC Hastings Law, if you are quarantining in your residence in the Tower for any reason.
333 Golden Gate: CLOSED
The same day that 333 Golden Gate opened to the public, we also closed 333 Golden Gate to the public. Other than security, facilities, and other limited essential functions, no one is permitted access to 333 Golden Gate until normal campus operations resume.
