Building Access & Hours


Access to our campus is restricted to protect our campus community and to stop the spread of COVID-19. Public visitors are not permitted without invitation. Students, faculty, and staff have limited access per building as described below.

Everyone entering campus buildings must present their photo identification to the security officer, wear a face covering, complete a symptoms questionnaire, and follow the College’s Health & Safety Plan as well as the College’s social distancing protocol.


Cotchett Law Center at 333 Golden Gate: LIMITED ACCESS via 200 McAllister

The same day that 333 Golden Gate opened to the public, we also closed 333 Golden Gate to the public. 333 Golden Gate is open to essential faculty and staff as well as those with offices in the building. Students are permitted to use spaces by reservation. Other users are permitted access with prior authorization. For those authorized to access, access is limited to the following building hours.

198 McAllister: CLOSED

198 McAllister is closed for construction. It will reopen to our campus community in July of 2023.

200 McAllister: OPEN

200 McAllister is open to the campus community but is not open to visitors unless via prior authorization. Students are permitted to pick up belongings as well as access exterior spaces at Cotchett Law Center or study rooms in the library, both of which are by advance reservation only. For those authorized, access is limited to the following building hours below.

100 McAllister: OPEN 24/7

100 McAllister, the Tower, will remain open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for residents, their guests, and essential support personnel. Visitors to the Tower are permitted by invite of student residents only, should be restricted by student residents as appropriate per the terms of the Public Health Orders from the City & County of San Francisco, sign in at the visitor kiosk, complete a symptoms questionnaire, present photo identification to the security officer, and wear a face covering. Non-resident students are not permitted to utilize Tower amenities including the study spaces or fitness center, as those areas are limited to use by residential students due to social distancing requirements.

376 Larkin Parking Garage: Open

In order to serve our student population as well as those serving in essential functions for the College, the parking garage will remain open albeit with limited hours as specified below. These days and hours are subject to change at any time, if you are using the parking garage, please ensure you check these hours regularly for important updates or look for signage at the parking garage.

Library Access

Due to current Public Health restrictions, the Library is currently closed to all public visitors and is not available for communal study.  Students are permitted to use individual study rooms by reservation only, information regarding that is on MyHastings. In order to ensure that the UC Hastings Law Library facilities and services are fully available to the UC Hastings College of the Law community, the Law Library observes a very limited access policy, which is fully enforced at all times that the Library is open.
