Commencement 2021

Commencement is our most significant ceremonial event, and the Class of 2021 has persevered through what will be remembered as one of the most difficult three semesters of law school. Congresswoman and UC Hastings alumna Jackie Speier ‘76 was this year’s Keynote Speaker.

Keynote Speaker

Congresswoman and UC Hastings alumna Jackie Speier ‘76 was this year’s Keynote Speaker. As a U.S. representative for California’s 14th Congressional District, Speier has focused on women’s rights, military and veterans’ affairs, and advocating for the middle class. In 2012, Newsweek named her to its list of 150 “Fearless Women” in the world. In 2018, Politico named her as one of the 50 thinkers, doers, and visionaries driving American politics and policy. She has written a best-selling autobiography, Undaunted.
