Law & Medicine Day

Our annual Law and Medicine Day is on Thursday, April 6, from approximately 9 AM-12 PM in the ARC. Lunch will be served; please RSVP here. This event is an interdisciplinary learning exercise: you will review case studies with your peers and UCSF medical students both in breakout groups and with faculty. It is designed to give participants a medical-legal perspective on these cases. We’ve received great feedback on this event in previous years, and we hope you can join us! We are focusing on immigration this year and our objectives are:
– Describe how lawyers and doctors can collaborate in supporting the health of immigrant families
– Describe basic principles of immigration law and how they relate to patients
– Discuss how cultural humility can help lawyers and doctors provide better care for immigrant families
– List legal resources available to health care providers to support immigrant patients
