Welcome to the law school’s master calendar!
Lecture by Professor Ugo Mattei
September 4 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
The Ecogical Catastrophe of the Anthropocene. Are Lawyers Part of the Problem or of the Solution?
Human development is producing an ecological footprint of catastrophic potential. Institutions are called upon to do something to solve or at least to mitigate the predictable consequences. In the Western Legal Tradition lawyers are among the most influential makers of institutions. In a time of unprecedented crisis of fundamenal institutions of modernity, including property and political representation a paradigm shift is needed. This lecture introduces an outline of such needed shift in our role and perception.
