Stress and Mindfulness Workshop (UC Hastings Community and Students Only)
September 9 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
*Not open to the general public*
UC Hastings’ Center for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution (CNDR) and Office of Student Services invite you to join us for a dynamic one-hour interactive workshop to learn how parts of the brain and stress affect one another, and what can be done through mindfulness to help mitigate negative long-term effects. The workshop will be presented by two experienced clinicians from Therapists of Color for Social Justice, and will incorporate direct teaching/explanations from presenters, visual demos, and experiential learning to both teach and invite the audience to interact with the concepts.
This workshop was designed for current UC Hastings students, but is free and open to the entire Hastings Community (staff, professors, alumni…). This event will be drop-in, so the link to join will be emailed out to the Hastings community privately and is available on MyHastings, but if you have questions or cannot find the link, please email Mattie Robertson, CNDR’s Deputy Director.
This workshop was developed and created by four California licensed psychotherapy clinicians: Dr. Shannon Dodani, Dr. Ivy Hall, Katerina Pogosov LMFT, and Naomi Yu LMFT. Additionally, all clinicians listed are also part of a newly-formed, Bay Area based collective called “Therapists of Color for Social Justice.” (This workshop is being done independently of the “Therapists of Color for Social Justice” collective)
The UC Hastings Events Calendar offers a comprehensive list of campus events, including co-curricular programming, faculty lectures, colloquia, wellness activities, alumni events, larger departmental meetings, and events sponsored by College departments, faculty, law journals, and registered student orgs. This functions as the College’s master calendar, which includes all events taking place on campus on any particular day. Students, faculty, or staff: Please visit MyHastings for information regarding the new guidelines and procedures for room reservations and publicizing your events.
