The University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco (“UC Hastings”) seeks to hire a tenured or tenure- track faculty member. Visiting Assistant Professor – Privacy
This is a one-year position. Under the direction and supervision of the Academic Dean and as part of the Institute for Innovation Law, the Visiting Assistant Professor will study privacy programs at other institutions, develop privacy programming for UC Hastings, both for teaching students and to support startups in the local ecosystem, and teach courses or guest lectures.
Writing Lecturer Positions
The University of California Hastings College of the Law is seeking experienced writing faculty for an appointment as a full-time Writing Lecturer to work within our legal writing program and to teach up to three sections of 1L legal writing classes each fall and spring term. This is a 9-month teaching contract, though Writing Lecturers may have the option of doing additional work over the summer. In addition, Writing Lecturers will provide 1:1 tutoring to law school students through our Legal Writing Resource Center.
Applicants must have significant practice experience (at least five years for an entry‐level position and at least ten for a more senior appointment) or comparable experience in a full‐time academic position; a strong academic background; and a commitment to modeling the highest of professional standards as well as to teaching law.
