Bio

Eric Dumbleton is the Chief Development Officer for UC Law SF. Eric joined UC Law SF in September 2015 and, reporting to the Chancellor & Dean of the law school, leads a team of thirteen in the Office of Advancement. Primary objectives of the Office include developing pathways and platforms for meaningful alumni engagement and generating philanthropic support from alumni and friends.

Eric has over twenty-five years of experience in higher education administration, including over fifteen in development and fundraising. Prior to joining UC Law SF, Eric was Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development at the University of San Francisco, and Capital Campaign Director at St. Anthony Foundation. He has his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, a master’s in business administration from Oglethorpe University (Atlanta) and, in 2016, completed the Institute for Educational Management program at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.

Outside of the office, Eric enjoys photography, cooking, live music, and ongoing exploration of San Francisco and the Bay Area. He is an avid Washington Capitals fan and former collegiate and professional soccer player. Eric is active and has volunteered in many capacities at his children’s schools, including coaching soccer and baseball, giving school tours, and leading the school’s annual fundraising effort.

A native of Springfield, VA (Washington D.C. metro), Eric moved to San Francisco in 2001. He has lived in the Mission, Noe Valley and Bernal Heights neighborhoods. He currently resides in the Sunset with his family.
