Bio
As senior writer and editor, Nicholas keeps his finger on the pulse of the UC Law SF community writing and publishing content that connects the school’s faculty, staff, alumni and students to each other and the outside world. Prior to joining UC Law SF, Nicholas worked as a legal news reporter for Courthouse News Service, where he covered a wide range of legal issues and litigation topics, including environmental policy, immigration, intellectual property, antitrust law, free speech, civil rights and criminal justice. He helped launch a successful podcast with a team of coworkers and co-created an episode on two wrongly convicted men who spent a collective 60 years in prison for crimes they did not commit. He previously won two awards for investigative reporting while working as a reporter for the Medford Transcript, a weekly newspaper north of Boston. He holds a master’s degree in journalism from Emerson College in Boston and a bachelor’s in public relations with a minor in political science from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. When he’s not writing, you can find him on a hiking trail, road trip or with his nose buried in a history book or newspaper.
