Bio

Adjunct Professor Theda Haber has over 24 years of experience as a lawyer in the investment management industry, including as General Counsel of BlackRock Institutional Trust Company and Deputy Global General Counsel of Barclays Global Investors.  She is an expert in all facets of the investment management industry and, in particular, ERISA fiduciary rules, U.S. banking law, hedge funds, and exchange traded funds (ETFs).   She was the Chair of the ERISA Advisory Council, a council appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Labor to advise the Secretary on issues affecting employee welfare and pension benefit plans.  She is also an adjunct professor at UC Davis School of Law, teaching a course on employee benefit plans.

Professor Haber began her legal education at UC Law SF College of the Law and completed her law degree at UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall) School of Law (Order of the Coif).  She has M.A. degrees from Stanford University and the University of Toronto and a B.A. degree (with highest honors) from UC Santa Cruz.
